What is Biometrics Technology?
Biometrics technology is an irrefutable verification or identification of a person by various physiological characteristics, which cannot be transferred or copied. Synel is using the latest technology and award winning Biometric sensors. Synel has implemented the module in 2 main products: Synel Sy-780 for Time & Attendance
and PrintX Access Control and School registration.
Protecting your rights!!
The integrity of the finger print template is guaranteed. We do not keep an image of your finger print!!! Our Biometric solution scans the finger tip ridges at a very low resolution, and translates the scan through an algorithm to a number. Only that number is stored.
How does it work?
When employees enrol, a template is created which is then stored as a mathematical template for future verification. The image of the fingerprint is not stored at any time.
Finger Print Verification - is the process of entering a pin # or using a card and comparing the current scanned image against a stored template. Response time is 1 sec.
Finger Print Identification - using the finger template for comparison. No need to enter a number or use a card. Response time 2-3 seconds.

Enrolling Fingerprints
Enrolling Fingerprints is made easy with Synel Optical Mouse. With our USB Optical Mouse, you can enrol Fingerprints at the PC within a minute. An instant score is given for the enrolment quality enabling you to re-do the process immediately if needed. High quality enrolment procedure will improve reading time and prevent problems in the future.
Biometrics and Smart Cards
To ensure total personal privacy of employees' fingerprint database, Fingerprint templates can now be stored on a Smart Card (in comparison to storing an algorithm in the terminal). With Smart Cards, the biometric fingerprint template is stored on the card's internal memory only. The scanned fingerprint is compared with the template stored within the card. This solution not only eliminates employees' privacy concerns, but it also allows for an unlimited number of users per terminal.
Synel Smart cards use Mifare, i-Class or Legic, offering quick communication and enabling encrypted reading and writing. Standard readers based on this technology use ISO 14443 protocol between the reader and the terminal. The cards are forge-proof and durable, with a lifespan of approximately 10 years.
